Banu Jaanu Chocolate
The foreign chocolate brand Banu Jaanu is based in India, and plays on the word Jaanu, meaning beloved, and darling. They wanted the wrapper to show the beloved as a beautiful woman in front of a Hindu temple to reflect their message of religion welcoming you with open arms making you feel beloved.
The challenge was that this chocolate would be sold in America, along with India, so it had to be welcoming to both cultures. The Jaanu has her arm extended, welcoming you, and acting as a guide to the temple. The goal was not to convert people to Hinduism, but to make people feel welcome to the religion.
